Volleyball Recap: Mountain Pointe Comes Up Short

Mountain Pointe lost against Higley back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pride fell 2-0 to the Knights.

Mountain Pointe's offense was headlined by Anai' Gaines and Isabella Meagher, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Amirah Rankin and her five assists. Katherine Levin controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Higley to victory were Hayden Sherrill and Addison Thompson. Sherrill had seven aces and five digs, while Thompson had 17 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Sherrill has posted since back in September of 2024. Peyton Lipsky also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Mountain Pointe has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Higley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10-2.

Mountain Pointe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Arizona College Prep on the 4th. As for Higley, they have also already played their next match, a 1-1 tie against Shadow Ridge on the 4th.
