Basketball Recap: Haxtun Takes a Loss

Haxtun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 62-23 loss at the hands of the Burlington Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-43 back in January.

Kiyarra Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Burlington, dropping a double-double with 29 points and ten boards. The match was Williams' sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Lynzee Neal was another key player, to rack up 15 points and four steals.

Haxtun's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Burlington, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Haxtun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Cougars coming up. Sedgwick County will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Burlington surely won't give up without a fight.
