The Cathedral Phantoms will challenge the Salesian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cathedral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Cathedral needed a bit of extra time to put away Salesian. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 7-2. Winning may never get old, but the Phantoms sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cathedral got a great performance from Nicholas Overton as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over eight innings pitched. Overton has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Rodarte, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Hernandez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

Cathedral kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Cathedral's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Salesian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Salesian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cathedral hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339.
