Volleyball Recap: South Johnston Finds Playoff Glory Versus Terry Sanford

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Johnston had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Terry Sanford Bulldogs as they made off with a 3-0 win.

South Johnston never let Terry Sanford on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

Olivia Bellamy paced South Johnston's offense, picking up seven kills. Bellamy really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 22. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

South Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Terry Sanford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

South Johnston will head out on the road to face off against Gray's Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Terry Sanford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
