Basketball Recap: Greene Central Comes Up Short

Greene Central played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 93-65 loss at the hands of the Farmville Central Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 90-59 back in January.

Despite the loss, Greene Central still got an impressive performance from Nick Avent, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. What's more, Avent also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sam Avent, who earned nine points.

Greene Central dropped their record down to 9-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Farmville Central, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Greene Central and North Lenoir will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. North Lenoir will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Greene Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Farmville Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jaguars take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Farmville Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
