Softball Recap: Williamsburg Blue Pirates vs. Juniata Valley Hornets

Williamsburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 26 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-16 in the process. They came up short against the Juniata Valley Hornets, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Williamsburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Stultz, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

On the hitting side, Kaitlyn Seville was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Julia Devore was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsburg will host Curwensville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Tide have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Juniata Valley, they will take on Mount Union at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
