Baseball Recap: Mineral County Comes Up Short

Mineral County lost to Wells on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Serpents took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leopards. The matchup marked the Serpents' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Johnny Serrato made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Mineral County and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Wells, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Mineral County is taking a road trip to take on Round Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wells, they have already played their next matchup, a 16-1 win against Virginia City on the 25th.
