Baseball Recap: Oak Forest's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Oak Forest came into Friday's game having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Cardinals last Friday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Blaine Smith was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Brennan Dorman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Oak Forest's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Southeastern HomeSchool, they moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Oak Forest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
