Softball Recap: Rockwall Comes Up Short

Rockwall dropped their record down to 14-15 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mansfield Legacy Broncos by a score of 10-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 back in February.

As for Mansfield Legacy, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 23-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

For Mansfield Legacy's part, the team relied heavily on Hope Gaudio, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Gaudio has posted since back in February. Onnika Benavides was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, Rockwall will challenge Sachse at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. Mansfield Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
