Duchesne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Wright City Wildcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Duchesne got a great performance from Gavin Moffitt as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Moffitt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jack Burle was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cayden Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Duchesne's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Wright City, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 10-10 record.

Duchesne and Wright City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Pioneers (ranked 71st) will meet Winfield (ranked 326th) at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wright City will face off against Wellsville-Middletown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (247 vs. 506).
