Volleyball Game Preview: Hoover Patriots vs. Madera South Stallions

Hoover hasn't had much luck against Madera South recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Stallions at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hoover had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Fresno on Thursday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

While Hoover won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Madera South beat Roosevelt 3-1 on Thursday.

Madera South had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.

Hoover's record is now 11-17. As for Madera South, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-16 record this season.
