Springfield hadn't beaten Hoehne on the road since September 11, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Longhorns enjoyed a cozy 40-26 win over the Farmers. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Farmers, too.

Springfield's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 3.5 times. Logan Spires refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games. As for Hoehne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Springfield will square off against Las Animas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Longhorns 15, the Trojans 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Hoehne, they will take on Crowley County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Farmers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
