Basketball Recap: Seton Hall Prep Pirates vs. West Side Roughriders
The Seton Hall Prep Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Side 78-51 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Seton Hall Prep, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Seton Hall Prep to victory were Gino Romano and Alex Ante. Romano scored 16 points along with two steals, while Ante scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Romano hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Beazer, who scored nine points.
Seton Hall Prep's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for West Side, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seton Hall Prep will challenge the Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Orange Campus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in New Jersey (the Jaguars are ranked 21st, while the Pirates are ranked 128th). As for West Side, they will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
