Volleyball Recap: Hilbert Victorious

Hilbert's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Reedsville Panthers 3-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory last Saturday.

Hilbert had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-13.

Miranda Koenig paced Hilbert's offense, picking up 15 kills. Koenig got some help from Grace Kloehn and her 22 assists. Kloehn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Hilbert has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-27 record this season. As for Reedsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.

Hilbert didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Montello on the 23rd. Reedsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
