Recap: McCutcheon Mavericks vs. Danville Warriors

It was a good run, but the McCutcheon Mavericks unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 52-45 to Danville.
Chloe Finney and Kalea Washington certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Finney scored 17 points along with two steals, while Washington scored five points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. Washington has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played.
Danville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Davis, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Wethington, who scored 13 points.
McCutcheon's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-3. As for Danville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCutcheon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Anderson at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Danville, they will take on Western Boone at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Western Boone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
