Recap: Hug Hawks vs. Dayton Dust Devils
The Hug Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 53-44 to Dayton. Hug has not had much luck with Dayton recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Hug's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karen Salgado, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Taniah Henderson, who scored 11 points.
Dayton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Penny-Laine Vaelua, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds. Madison McTee was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Hug's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dayton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Hug will head out on the road to face off against North Tahoe at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dayton, they will take on Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
