Baseball Game Preview: Arcadia Titans vs. Mesquite Wildcats

The Arcadia Titans will head out to square off against the Mesquite Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Arcadia came up short against Saguaro and fell 6-3. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Sabercats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Arcadia got a good showing from Gehrig Heil, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Heil has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grant Erickson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. LJ Donahue was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Mesquite didn't have quite enough to beat Campo Verde on Friday and fell 11-10.

Andres Lozano stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gunnar Gift, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Mesquite, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Arcadia couldn't quite finish off Mesquite in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
