Volleyball Recap: The Villages Charter Finds Playoff Glory Versus Astronaut + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but The Villages Charter had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Astronaut War Eagles by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Buffalo, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The Villages Charter had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-22.

Viviana Toucet paced The Villages Charter's offense, picking up 20 kills. Toucet got some help from Sharon Wiechens and her 27 assists. Finally, Alexia Laws kept The Villages Charter's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Siena Allotta and Jojo Demers certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Allotta had ten digs and four aces, while Demers had 11 digs and three assists.

The Villages Charter is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season. As for Astronaut, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-8.

Coming up, The Villages Charter will head out on the road to square off against Lake Highland Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Astronaut does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
