Basketball Recap: Bellmont's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Bellmont hadn't done well against Fort Wayne Northrop recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bellmont Braves snuck past the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins with a 53-49 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Braves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Browning, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Donlaray Reese, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points and four steals.

Bellmont's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Bellmont and Fort Wayne Northrop could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Bellmont will square off against Huntington North at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday down 200 places (367 vs. 167). Bellmont is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Northrop (ranked 204th) will meet Fort Wayne Wayne (ranked 28th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
