Recap: Avon Grove Charter Wolves vs. Varsity Opponent
There's no place like home for the Avon Grove Charter Wolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-48 win over Varsity Opponent on Friday. For Avon Grove Charter, this counts as revenge for the 57-45 defeat Varsity Opponent walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Avon Grove Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joseph McGinley, who scored ten points. Kamran Masih was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Avon Grove Charter pushed their record up to 9-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 21 of their last 22 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 390-1442-2 record this season.
Avon Grove Charter will head out on the road to square off against Tri-State Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-State Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 contests -- so hopefully Avon Grove Charter likes a good challenge. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 84-68 defeat vs. Prolific Prep of Napa Christian on the 9th.
