Softball Recap: Seneca East Tigers vs. South Central Trojans
Seneca East was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against South Central on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 13-3 win. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.
Karah Reiter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Reiter was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addy Dawson, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Seneca East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Central only posted an OBP of .320.
