Libertyville is a perfect 6-0 against Vernon Hills since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wildcats will take on the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. Libertyville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Libertyville's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Lake Forest by a score of 2-0. Given Libertyville's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Lake Forest are ranked 121st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lilly Frantz and Gianna Amidei scored both of Libertyville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vernon Hills). They blew past Maine East 9-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Vernon Hills with their most commanding win of the season.

Vernon Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six games. As for Libertyville, their win bumped their record up to 12-1-3.

Libertyville took their victory against Vernon Hills in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
