Basketball Recap: Splendora Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Splendora hadn't done well against Dayton recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Splendora Wildcats managed a 49-45 victory over the Dayton Broncos. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Broncos back in December of 2024, they had to take a 37-34 defeat.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophie Mitchell, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Those ten points gave Mitchell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryanna Boston, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Splendora's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-13. As for Dayton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-20 record this season.

Splendora has already played their next contest (against Porter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dayton will take on Kingwood Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingwood Park has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
