Columbia Academy is 8-2 against Bowling Green since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. On Friday, Columbia Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Brookhaven Academy. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Brookhaven Academy 8-7. That's two games straight that Columbia Academy has won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Corban Lawrence, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Baughman, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Lawrence wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Columbia Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green lost 8-2 to Oak Forest Academy on Friday.

Columbia Academy pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bowling Green, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Everything went Columbia Academy's way against Bowling Green when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Columbia Academy made off with a 15-5 victory.
