Baseball Recap: Southeast Comes Up Short

Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 10-6 to the Destiny Christian Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 18-11 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Xavier Gonzalez and Nano Soliz did some serious damage despite the final result: Gonzalez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Soliz went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that Gonzalez has got this season. Ty Ball was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Destiny Christian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Southeast will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Guthrie at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Destiny Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Harding Prep on the 14th.
