Baseball Game Preview: Laurel Spartans vs. Shenango Wildcats

For the second straight game, Laurel will face off against Shenango. The Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shenango hit Laurel with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 10-1 to the Wildcats. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

For Shenango's part, Jack Kielar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Kielar has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Anterock, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win was the third in a row for Shenango, bringing their record up to 11-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Laurel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
