            Volleyball Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Green Level Gators        
        
		
        
        
            Apex and Green Level squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but Apex had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of  3-2. The Cougars have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
 Apex started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 19-25, 25-13, 25-14,  15-12.
 Elyse Smelcer paced Apex's offense, picking up 24 kills. Smelcer got some help from  Paola Quirez and her 24 assists.  Katie Raymer and  Bexley Cole kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
 Green Level was led to victory by  Aarushi Shah and  Madison Simmons.  Shah  had 16  digs and three  aces, while  Simmons  had 17  digs and three  aces. Those  16  digs gave  Shah a new career-high.
Apex's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Green Level, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 26-0.
 Apex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Green Level, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Green Hope  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
