Basketball Recap: Serra Comes Up Short

Serra was the 64-50 winner over St. Paul when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Serra Cavaliers fell 55-48 to the St. Paul Swordsmen on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while the Swordsmen are ranked 129th).

Serra has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for St. Paul, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Serra will venture away from home to face off against St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Paul, they will challenge St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
