Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Helix

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Helix walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Christian Patriots 43-41. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Highlanders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Patriots are ranked 150th).

Helix pushed their record up to 12-17 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-6.

Coming up, Helix will head out to face off against Bishop's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
