Preview: Valley vs. East Union

The Valley Vikings will face off against the East Union Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

With a playoff game on the line, Valley rose to the challenge on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Buffaloes a 2-0 shutout. The result kept Valley happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 5th.

They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of Angel Ayala and Edgar Vega, who scored both of Valley's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 21 so far this season.

In what's become a running theme this season, East Union gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Everything went their way against Roseville as East Union made off with a 3-0 win. The result kept East Union happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 18th.

Valley pushed their record up to 21-4-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for East Union, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9-2 record this season.

Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against East Union in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Will Valley repeat their success, or does East Union have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
