Basketball Game Preview: Springer Red Devils vs. New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners

The Springer Red Devils will take on the New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Springer is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since November 23, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Maxwell by a score of 71-68. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, New Mexico School for the Deaf was beaten by Maxwell 71-32 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Bears are ranked 44th).

New Mexico School for the Deaf's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-7. As for Springer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Everything came up roses for Springer against New Mexico School for the Deaf in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 85-46 victory.
