Basketball Recap: Montoursville Takes a Loss

Montoursville lost against Mount Carmel back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Montoursville Warriors took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the RED TORNADOES are ranked 85th).

Mount Carmel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jude Lazicki led the charge by going 8 for 18 en route to 19 points and six boards. Chase Balichik was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Montoursville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Mount Carmel, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Montoursville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-41 win against Jersey Shore on the 10th. As for Mount Carmel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-37 victory against Southern Columbia Area on the 5th.
