After a string of five wins, Hasbrouck Heights's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Wallington Panthers by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Aviators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Maddy Connelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Hasbrouck Heights saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailen Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Hasbrouck Heights suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 9-2. As for Wallington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Hasbrouck Heights will host Cresskill at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Aviators surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wallington, they will head out on the road to face off against Weehawken at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
