Hialeah's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the South Miami Cobras. The Thoroughbreds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cobras, too.

Jordan Richardo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Richardo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Jude Fernadez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Richardo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Devin Gil, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Hialeah's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for South Miami, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10-1 record this season.

Hialeah will square off against Coral Gables at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Miami, they will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
