Soccer Game Preview: Davison vs. Lapeer

The Davison Cardinals will challenge the Lapeer Lightning at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Davison is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Midland just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Chemics by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Davison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Midland are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Lapeer didn't have quite enough to beat Grand Blanc on Wednesday and fell 2-1. Lapeer haven't had much luck with Grand Blanc recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Davison's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Lapeer, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-2.
