Basketball Recap: Axel Navarro Key Part of a Team Effort in Bobcats Win

Edinburg lost to King back in December of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Edinburg Bobcats managed a 61-56 win over the King Mustangs. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Mustangs are ranked 842nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edinburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Axel Navarro, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and six assists. Navarro is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Edgar Perales, who posted six points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Edinburg's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for King, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Edinburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-37 victory against Zapata on the 30th. As for King, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-42 win against Alice on the 31st.
