Soccer Game Preview: Horizon vs. Notre Dame Prep

Horizon is 0-6 against Notre Dame Prep since December of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Horizon Huskies will welcome the Notre Dame Prep Saints at 6:00 p.m. Horizon will be strutting in after a victory while Notre Dame Prep will be coming in after a defeat.

Horizon is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Mountain Pointe onto the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Their offense was hitting Mountain Pointe from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Camryn Barton led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Notre Dame Prep fell just short of Chaparral by a score of 3-2. The Saints' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Horizon's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-9-1. As for Notre Dame Prep, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5-3.
