Volleyball Recap: Grayslake North Takes a Loss

Grayslake North lost against Mundelein back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Knights took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grayslake North may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 14 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14.

Logan Smith paced Grayslake North's offense, picking up four kills. Smith were helped by Josh Hercog and Noah Sanzana, who contributed four assists each.

Leading Mundelein to victory were Zack Nocera and Rance Cruz. Nocera had 19 assists, while Cruz had ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs Cruz has posted over his last seven matches. Creed Morton also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Grayslake North's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Mundelein, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Grayslake North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lakes on the 29th. As for Mundelein, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Warren Township on the 30th.
