Baseball Game Preview: Buckley Griffins vs. Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves

The Buckley Griffins will square off against the Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Buckley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica with a sharp 15-3 win on Tuesday.

Buckley got a great performance from Sam Stefan as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Stefan also tossed five walks, marking his first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Spencer Peterson, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (four). Charlie Katz also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Buckley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the loss, Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Buckley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.
