Baseball Preview: Parkersburg Big Reds vs. Warren Warriors

Parkersburg and Warren are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Parkersburg Big Reds will head out on the road to take on the Warren Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkersburg is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Last Wednesday, Parkersburg fell victim to a rough 7-1 defeat at the hands of Parkersburg South.

Conner Storey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

On the hitting side, Peyton Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Meanwhile, Warren scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Eastern.

Warren also got a great performance from Tate Jonas as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits (he also only allowed one walk).

At the plate, Ethan Holbert was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jacob Sealey, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Parkersburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Warren, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
