While losing is never fun, Mount Airy Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Springdale Prep is ranked 104th).
Mount Airy Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava McGlaughlin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Madison Pier was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 19 rebounds.
Mount Airy Christian Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.1 points per game. As for Springdale Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-22.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy Christian Academy is on the road again on Monday and plays Harford Christian at 4:30 p.m. on February 12th. As for Springdale Prep, they will challenge Holton-Arms at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
