No. 5 Skyline and No. 4 Cedar Hill will meet a year after Skyline handed Cedar Hill a 40-30 defeat in 2014.

MaxPreps takes a look at a titanic Texas matchup coming this week.

An early Week 3 showdown pits Cedar Hill, No. 4 in the MaxPreps Texas Top 25, against No. 5 Skyline (Dallas). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill's Longhorn Stadium.

Cedar Hill (2-0) is taking aim at a third-consecutive state championship. Skyline (2-0) is coming off a 24-22 victory over Martin (Arlington) and defeated Cedar Hill 40-30 in Week 3 last season.

Seth Green threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns in his first start at quarterback. He ran for two more in a 56-20 romp over Viera (Fla.).

The Tigers, hitting on all cylinders, led 44-0 at halftime and rolled to their second-straight shutout, 57-0 over Fort Bend Travis (Richmond).

3. (4) Trinity (Euless) 2-0
After a slow start, Trinity's De'Jaun Garrett rushed for three touchdowns in a 41-16 victory over Rockwall.

4. (5) Cedar Hill 2-0
Junior quarterback Avery Davis accounted for 318 total yards and three touchdowns in a 28-17 triumph over Bowie (Arlington).



5. (6) Skyline (Dallas) 2-0
Terreon Randolph threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead the Raiders to a 24-22 victory over Martin (Arlington).

6. (7) Westfield (Houston) 2-0
Tyrie Cleveland had two touchdown receptions and returned a punt for another score in a 59-12 throttling of Clear Brook (Friendswood).

7. (8) Steele (Cibolo) 2-0
The Knights' defense limited United South (Laredo) to 64 yards and four first downs in a 45-0 blanking.

8. (3) Martin (Arlington) 1-1
A week after stunning DeSoto, the Warriors' comeback fell short in a 24-22 loss to Skyline (Dallas).

9. (9) Westlake (Austin) 2-0
Sam Ehlinger's 12-yard scoring run with 47 seconds remaining nailed down a 28-17 victory over Temple.

10. (10) Lake Travis (Austin) 2-0
Charlie Brewer threw for four touchdowns in a 46-13 rout of Copperas Cove.

11. (12) Atascocita (Humble) 2-0
Junior quarterback Daveon Boyd threw for 335 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-7 romp over Klein Forest (Houston).



12. (13) Marcus (Flower Mound) 2-0
Nate Hopkins rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-17 victory over Arlington.

13. (14) Manvel 1-1
Uryan Hudson's PAT interception return with 1:35 remaining sealed a thrilling 43-40 victory over North Shore (Houston).

14. (11) North Shore (Houston) 1-1
Maciah Long threw for three touchdowns and rushed for three more, but it was not enough in a 43-40 loss to Manvel.

15. (16) The Woodlands 2-0
Zak Yglecias and Connor Binney returned interceptions for touchdowns in a 34-7 triumph over Spring Dekaney (Houston).

16. (17) Cedar Park 2-0
Trailing by two points at halftime, Jack Grimm responded with four touchdowns in the second half of a 42-17 win over Rouse (Leander).

17. (19) Judson (Converse) 2-0
The Rockets piled up 446 yards of offense and didn't commit any turnovers in a 42-14 branding of Brandeis (San Antonio).



18. (20) Pearland 2-0
The Oilers' defense picked off three passes and held Memorial (Houston) to 183 total yards in a 29-7 victory.

19. (21) Carroll (Southlake) 1-1
Lil' Jordan Humphrey scored on a three-yard run with 2:27 remaining to carry the Dragons to a 34-30 road victory over Union (Tulsa, Okla.).

20. (25) Dickinson 2-0
Jordan Myers rushed for 210 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 50-14 blowout over Summer Creek (Humble).

21. (24) Ryan (Denton) 2-0
The Raiders' defense came up with four turnovers in a 41-19 win over Hebron.

22. (NR) Smithson Valley (Spring Branch) 2-0
Josh Adkins' 54-yard touchdown pass to Lane Raulston with 55 seconds remaining was the difference in a 35-28 victory over Brennan (San Antonio).

23. (NR) Klein Collins (Spring) 2-0
Justin Pratt rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-21 triumph over Kingwood.



24. (NR) George Ranch (Richmond) 2-0
Joshua Scruggs rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-6 victory over Friendswood.

25. (22) Plano 2-0
Blake Mazza's
36-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter carried the Wildcats to a 31-29 victory over MacArthur (Irving).
