Basketball Recap: Yavneh Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lakehill Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yavneh Academy). They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 71-37 victory over the Lakehill Prep Warriors. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 51-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had little chance of recovering from.

Yavneh Academy was led to victory by Lilly Yalovsky and Jordyn Spalding. Yalovsky dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten steals, while Spalding dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Yalovsky has scored at least a third of Yavneh Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Romi Glina, who posted six points and four steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Yavneh Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Yavneh Academy pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.3 points. As for Lakehill Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Yavneh Academy will face off against Chisholm Trail Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Yavneh Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Chisholm Trail Academy likes a good challenge. Lakehill Prep has already played their next contest (against Highlands), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
