Basketball Game Preview: Hanover Central Wildcats vs. Illiana Christian Vikings

The Hanover Central Wildcats will square off against the Illiana Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanover Central has given up an average of 53.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Hanover Central is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 28th on Thursday. They took a blow against Crown Point, falling 65-36. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Wildcats' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Meanwhile, Illiana Christian came up short against Culver Academies on Tuesday and fell 55-42. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Eagles are ranked 102nd).

Illiana Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hanover Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Hanover Central beat Illiana Christian 45-35 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanover Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
