Softball Recap: Wyoming Valley West Spartans vs. Crestwood Comets
Wyoming Valley West extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Crestwood Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on April 4th.
Wyoming Valley West saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese McGlynn, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run. That run was McGlynn's first of the season.
As for Crestwood, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 20th.
On Crestwood's side, Brooke Lenahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.
