Basketball Game Preview: Cathedral Fighting Irish vs. Northview Knights

The Cathedral Fighting Irish will challenge the Northview Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Cathedral sitting on five straight wins and Northview on 16.

Cathedral is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They beat Purdue Poly Englewood by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 64-34. The Fighting Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Cathedral can attribute much of their success to Tianna Guy, who went 9 for 16 to rack up 22 points and six boards, and Caroline Wiggins, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wiggins a new career-high in steals (six). Another player making a difference was Jaeda Wilson, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Northview strolled past Owen Valley with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 58-41. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Patriots are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northview's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Cathedral, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.
