Softball Recap: Clovis Comes Up Short

Clovis extended their losing streak to 14 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-20. They came up short against the Hobbs Eagles, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-1 defeat two weeks ago.

As for Hobbs, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Considering they have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hobbs' part, Sol Rangel was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Those two triples gave Rangel a new career-high. Jaquelynn Fuentez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hobbs beat Clovis by a score of 13-2 later that day.
