Cardinal Gibbons picks up fourth straight win on the road

Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders vs. Leesville Road Pride

The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Leesville Road out 36-34. The win was familiar territory for Cardinal Gibbons who now have three in a row.

Cardinal Gibbons found their leader in underclassman Tessa Gladieux, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Gladieux is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Maciariello, who scored six points.

Cardinal Gibbons pushed their record up to 9-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Leesville Road, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.

Cardinal Gibbons will be playing at home against Broughton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leesville Road, they will head out on the road to challenge Athens Drive at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens Drive will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Leesville Road is ranked 90th).
