Basketball Game Preview: Hagerman Bobcats vs. Dexter Demons

The Hagerman Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Dexter Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hagerman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Back in December of 2024, Hagerman was fully in charge, breezing past Grady 57-21. With the Bobcats ahead 41-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Hagerman relied on the efforts of Jordan Aguilar, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals, and Jevon Aguilar, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Jevon's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Zamora, who posted six points.

Hagerman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Dexter came up short against Jal on Tuesday and fell 64-53. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Hagerman has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Dexter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything came up roses for Hagerman against Dexter in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-18 victory. In that match, Hagerman amassed a halftime lead of 45-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
