Football Game Preview: Towson Generals vs. Sparrows Point Pointers

The Towson Generals will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Sparrows Point Pointers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Towson is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pikesville just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 38-28 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Sparrows Point put another one in the bag last Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 41-0 win over Western Tech & Environmental Science. That looming 41-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pointers yet this season.

Towson better keep an eye on Mikey Maynor. He was instrumental in Sparrows Point's win, rushing for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Maynor's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards.

Sparrows Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Julius Harris.

Towson's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Sparrows Point, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Towson came up short against Sparrows Point in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 27-18. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
